Alu/butyl heavy foil, 4 plates á 500 x 500 x 1.6 mm

Alu/butyl heavy foil is a lightweight, highly flexible material made from a butyl rubber-based self-adhesive damping compound with excellent sound deadening properties, surface-laminated with an aluminium foil (approx. 150 µm thick)

Main function: Sound deadening of metal sheets, particularly formed parts

Applications: Car body and vehicle construction, household appliances, shipbuilding, mechanical engineering, air ducts, etc. The material may be applied to oiled surfaces (anti-corrosion oil) without prior degreasing and withstands degreasing and painting processes

Processing:

• Thoroughly clean the surface to remove any dust, grease, oil and water. Make sure to apply adhesive generously over the entire surface. As contact pressure is crucial for adhesion when using cold bonding systems, ensure that the parts are pressed together firmly and evenly, e.g. using a pressure roller
• Cold bonding should not be carried out at material temperatures below 20°

Storage:

• Dry at temperatures of 18 - 35°C and up to 50% humidity
• Stackable: 100 layers max.
• Storage time: 12 months
